For #woodentoywednesday this week I have been sent the very well made Pintoy Tower Castle to review from John Crane. The Tower Castle is suitable for ages 3+ & some assembly is required but it is very simple to do. The walls are connected to the towers by pushing the 2 notches into the pre-drilled holes & they fit snugly into them. You are also able to take it apart again to store away if needed. The Tower castle is made from really durable natural wood & the towers tops are painted in a bright red paint with brick detailing painted around the castle walls & towers.
I like how really sturdy the Tower Castle is, I normally struggle to find toys that can withstand the strength of Thomas but this castle he will have no problems with & he will be able to play without breaking it as the walls are really thick & well made. It features a working draw bridge & portcullis which both work really well, Thomas loved being able to turn the knob & watch the draw bridge slowly come down to let all the knights into the castle to fight off the baddies that are keeping the princess hostage in the tall tower. Inside the castle walls there is a walk way for the knights to walk around to look out for danger & 2 sets of stairs that allow the knights to reach those walk ways. What castle would be complete without a flag! in this set you get a free standing wooden flag. The Tower castle is a nice size, H40cm L47cm D38cm so it is perfect for a child to enjoy the imaginative role play that they can have.
It is a really well made wooden Castle that any boy or even girl would love, the imaginative play is really great to watch with a toy like this as you can watch your child play & be swept away on their very own adventures.
You just need a few knights & horses & that all important princess to rescue to complete this set.
I received the product for the purpose of the review, all opinions are my own.
